SUMMARY:Introduction to Forest Immersion
DESCRIPTION:Join Colin Gray a naturalist\, an environmental researcher since 2009\, and a certified Forest Immersion Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT)\, as he opens the doors into the wonders of nature’s interbeing.Enjoy the health benefits attributed to forest immersion as you relax and rejuvenate. \n\n\n\nThis unique experience invites you to connect deeply with nature\, promoting physical\, mental\, emotional and social well-being. Put yourself in touch with the present-moment as you awaken your senses. Connect with the trees\, walk barefoot or lie on the forest floor and stare into the cathedral above. Allow us to guide you through mindful practices and sensory engagement in the natural world. \n\n\n\nCurrent research on forest immersion focuses on two components-phytoncides\, and negative ions. Phytoncides are naturally occurring chemical compounds to help plants and trees protect themselves\, in the process they may also help us in similar ways. Negative ions are tiny molecules produced in nature that may offer mood-enhancing benefits\, reduce blood pressure\, and help boost the immune system. If you are feeling as if life’s daily pressures and stresses are getting you down\, perhaps consider a forest immersion experience. \n\n\n\nAges: 16+When: Saturday\, October 17Time: 2:00 PM – 3:30 PMWhere: DesBrisay Museum & Woodland Gardens\, 130 Jubilee Rd\, Bridgewater \n\n\n\nPre Registration required
