Citizen Science: iNaturalist Workshop

Take part in a citizen science workshop at DesBrisay Museum on Nov. 24th, 10 AM – 11:30 AM.
Hosted by students from NSCC’s Natural Resources Environmental Technology Program.
Bring a phone, tablet, or computer and camera, and learn about the natural world at your fingertips. Don’t have a phone or tablet? NSCC will provide tablets to use during the iNaturalist Workshop.
Come be a part of the global collection of species biodiversity and learn how you can contribute to a local project!
iNaturalist is a global citizen science project designed to observe, collect, and share information in the field of ecology.
The information collected is used by scientists, researchers, volunteers, and academics, to better understand species diversity and distribution across the world.
During this workshop, participants will learn how to navigate iNaturalist via the app on mobile devices, take research-grade photos, upload observations, and identify a species.
•Dress appropriately for both indoor and outdoor activities.
•Open to all ages. No pre-registration required.
