The Bee’s Knees: Exploring Native Bumblebees of Nova Scotia

Join us for a free workshop hosted by students from NSCC’s Natural Resources Environmental Technology Program.
The Bee’s Knees: Exploring Native Bumblebees of Nova Scotia will be a fun, interactive and educational workshop that really is the Bee’s Knees!
Participants will learn basic anatomy through microscopic observations, learn techniques for identifying species native to Nova Scotia and practice new skills in species identification.
Participants will learn about threats to these important pollinators and how they can help provide habitats that will keep the bees buzzing!
Presenters will share information on participating in local citizen science projects and participants will take home a user-friendly field guide to make the most out of the next bee season!
Open to all ages. No pre-registration required.
