“High and Dry” is a collection of six images by Charlene Morton, taken in Blue Rocks, Bridgewater, Gold River, Lunenburg, and Voglers Cove. It is an off-season visual gesture to remind us of the beauty of boats, not only on but also off the water. Fully exposed hulls offer us different and augmented perspectives for admiring the craft of boat building and upkeep.
Historia Atlantica A Retrospective This exhibit by Lunenburg-based artist Su Rogers, focused on the often invisible work of Nova Scotia women in fishing industry, working both as packers and fishers. The exhibit ran from August 17th until October 15th, 2024. See below for photos, and a video sharing more about the show and its themes.
An annual favourite, the South Shore School Art Show is here! This exhibit features the artwork by local elementary aged students. Show runs from April 6th to May 11th. Join us for for the reception and ‘meet the artists’ on April 11th from 5 – 7 PM.

The Lobster Luncheon scheduled for this Saturday at museum and hosted by the Friends of the DesBrisay Museum Society has been postponed due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizing team.
The event will be rebooked for the spring and a new date will be announced in the future.
