Lunenburg Area Miniatures by Pamela Murray

June 2 – July 27, 2022

Admire the beauty of Lunenburg County through Pamela Murray’s watercolour miniatures! The exhibit runs until July 27, 2022.

Artist’s Statement:

I first became interested in painting when my parents enrolled me in art classes to help heal surgery on my arm. In my late teens I became interested in photography as well. My photography now provides inspiration for my paintings.

I studied drawing and painting with various artists in Winnipeg and Yellowknife, including John Murray, the only canadian photographer chosen to exhibit at the Los Angeles olympics. I have participated in art shows in Winnipeg and Yellowknife contributing drawings, photographs and paintings and winning some prizes. My objective is to show the beauty of local vistas and the natural world which display the character of the Lunenburg area, with it’s shoreline, buildings, trees, flora and fauna, in miniature water colour “Snapshots”. Miniatures, to me, enable a person to get a glimpse into an aspect of the world which might otherwise be overlooked.
