In celebration of International Women’s Day, our latest exhibit will highlight the stories and contributions of women throughout Lunenburg County’s history. Show runs from March 4 – April 1, 2023. In conjunction with the exhibit, we’ll also be hosting a letter opening event.
“High and Dry” is a collection of six images by Charlene Morton, taken in Blue Rocks, Bridgewater, Gold River, Lunenburg, and Voglers Cove. It is an off-season visual gesture to remind us of the beauty of boats, not only on but also off the water.
Show runs May 2 – July 31, 2023
“Pathways” is a collection of four images by Kathryn Price, taken while out hiking at various locations across Canada. These images, as a metaphor for life, are intended to make us pause to reflect on the natural beauty that surrounds us as we move forward on our own unique paths in life taking one step at a time.

Museum Engagement Coordinator (18-month term)
The Town of Bridgewater and DesBrisay Museum are currently recruiting for a Museum Engagement Coordinator to fill an 18-month term position.
Join us on Saturday, January 28 at 2:00 PM for a book presentation with local author, Bob Sayer.
Bob will discuss his new book “Mahone Bay: From Mi’kmaw Treasure to Town of Talents.” The book follows the history of the region from the Mi’kmaq through to the establishment of the Mahone Bay Centre.
Take part in a Journal Making workshop at DesBrisay Museum on February 18, 2023.
This is a FREE art program for individuals with autism, hosted by the South Shore Chapter of Autism Nova Scotia. The program runs the 1st Saturday of every month.

Many 8″ x 8 ” pieces by local artists are also for sale at our Square Show, along with some oil paintings from marine artist, Graham Baker’s current exhibit “50 Years Before the Easel: A Retrospective.”
The DesBrisay Museum’s Clickety Clack Knitting Group recently created these beautiful poppies for a Remembrance Day display at Veterans Memorial Park in Bridgewater.
The weekly group along with dozens of community volunteers knitted and crocheted 500 poppies!
